FAQ

Below is a list of frequently asked questions that will help you answer most of the common questions people have when getting in contact with us.

We offer different services within the psychological domain. Discover them in the menu under ‘What can we do for you’.

Individuals of all ages with any kind of psychological challenges as well as organizations, for example managers, HR, school/university or healthcare professionals, who are interested in extra support and guidance to strengthen themselves, their team, build productivity or their knowledge and skills. So basically, everyone!

We are flexible in rescheduling if that is needed. We also do need to keep an eye on our schedule ourselves and would like to therefore ask you to please cancel if needed at least 1 week in advance if possible. This is important for us to be able to invest in providing quality services. In addition, it gives us time to schedule other individuals/organizations that may be waiting for an appointment.

If you cancel team workshops less than 1 week in advance, we will charge 50% of the agreed upon fee and 100 % if cancelled in less than 24 hours of the workshop.

If you do not show up without notice we have to consider it as a ‘no-show’ and with that charge a 100% fee of the service.

For individual sessions we ask to inform us at least 24 hrs before, after this also a 50% rate will be charged, or a 100% rate for a no show (without notice).

Most of the time you get referred by your house doctor to a psychologist. You can also contact a psychologist yourself if you want to. You have different options on the island: for example private practices and bigger organizations like the Mental Health Foundation.

Psychotherapy or psychological assessment is at this moment NOT offered by Inspired due to restrictions by the government on the number of psychologists allowed to practice. Unfortunately, that number is already reached what makes the team of Inspired currently not being able to provide these services. If you are seeking this kind of help on St. Maarten we recommend to contact the by the government licensed persons. On this list you can find the licensed psychologists who are also part of the local alliance of psychologists: http://www.apapsxm.com/find-a-psychologist/

If you are looking for other services than therapy or psychological assessment, check our home page for more information about personal, professional and team development and more!

Since we are not providing psychological assessment of psychotherapy our current services are not covered by insurance.

No, you can lie down on your own couch. At home. Without the psychologist.
If the psychologist you visit does have a couch, do ask first please if you can lie down. This is not common practice anymore since Freud, we think.

We think you would be crazy not to do it when you need it. So no, totally not.
Life itself can actually be crazy sometimes, but that is a totally different discussion.

No. We find confidentiality very important and live up to that. If you do want us to help explain something to someone else for you we do this at your request. We only disclose personal information with your consent.
